Phyllis Jean, was born in Homer, Ohio to Torris (Geary) and Earl Myers on February 27, 1924. She passed away on September 3, 2023 at her home with her loving family all around her. She was lacking less than six months to her 100th birthday.
She attended school in Homer, Ohio graduating with the class of 1941.
Miss Myers was married to George Hunter and to this union two children, Linda and Gary, were born. A few years later she married Neil Carpenter and they moved to Chula Vista, California. At the age of 43 she met the love of her life Ted Ashton. After several years in California, Ted and Phyllis made their way to Oklahoma to make their home. She went to work at Share Nursing Home as a nurse's assistant until she retired. Phyllis was an avid doll collector and shared her joy of her hobby by gifting dolls to many family and friends. Phyllis was always excited to show a new doll to her granddaughter Ashlyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and two brothers, the love of her life Ted, a daughter, Linda Whitely and son-in-law, Darrell Whitely
She is survived by her son, Gary and wife Kandy Hunter of Michigan, grandchildren Jennifer Rankin and Natalie Sherhart of Michigan, Cody Yoachum of Oklahoma City, OK, Darren and wife Marisa Whitely of Alva, Danny Whitely of Oklahoma City, OK. Great grandchildren, Leigh-Ann Smits, Travis Sherhart, Lauren Rankin, Matthew Rankin of Michigan, and her sweethearts Dylan and Ashlyn Whitely of Alva. Several great great grandchildren of Michigan and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her honor to Complete OK Hospice in Enid, for the loving care they showed Phyllis
