Phyllis Sherrill Bachus

Phyllis Sherrill Bachus, 93, died February 15, 2025, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born October 14, 1931, in Bazine, Kansas, to Enceil and Letha (Carey) Frazier.
Phyllis graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1949, she earned her nursing degree in 1977. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse for a few years, rising to become a nurse supervisor before retiring from Hutchinson Hospital.
In her spare time, Phyllis loved to read, crocheting, knitting, and cooking. In addition, Phyllis had an undeniable passion for music, whether she was playing the piano or listening to her favorite songs.
On January 31, 1951, she married Toss K. Bachus in Hutchinson. They shared over 64 years of marriage, prior to his death on March 23, 2015.
Phyllis is survived by: her son, Philip Bachus of Independence, MO; granddaughter, Stephanie (Aubrey) Espinosa of Trophy Club, TX; great-grandson, John (Olivia) Espinosa of Trophy Club, TX; great-granddaughters, Isabel and Olivia Espinosa; and brother, Forest Frazier of Ness City, KS.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; and daughter, Beverly Withroder.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday March, 8, 2025, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Keith Dellenbach officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Click here to watch the service
