Phyllis Barnes Obituary
Phyllis was a lifelong resident of Etowah County and spent most of her career working in retail sales. She was not particularly outgoing and preferred the comforts of home. A simple cookout from time to time was enough to make her happy. She loved her family deeply, though she could be somewhat stubborn-Phyllis believed her way was always the best way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Barnes; grandson, Dylan Works; parents, Dallas and Mary Etta Parker; and siblings, Clyde, Nell Jo, and Liz.
She is survived by her daughters, Renee Works (Bud Payne) and Bridgett Moore (Joel); son, Tyrone Barnes; stepdaughter, Tammy Gibbs (William); grandchildren, Drew (Amber), Alex, Victoria(Trevor), and Wesley; and great-grandchildren, Jagger and Brynlee. Sister Jane Brothers and sister in law Dot Parker.
The family extends special thanks to the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate care.

Always Loved Phyllis, worked with her at K Mart rainbow City!! She was a very sweet outgoing person!! We had the best times together working!! Praying for her family!!

Aunt Phyllis was faithful in visiting Mother, Nell Jo. She had a great laugh. Everyone of the sisters had laughs you never forgot! Loved each and everyone of them. Sorry for your loss. Praying for peace and comfort to the family.

Sorry to hear of Phyllis passing we were best friends in school and later on in life but I moved to ga. And we din´t get to see each other too much after that but I always loved her even though we din´t see each other.Now I try to stay in touch with her daughter Reena and we talk about Phyllis and how she is doing she will surely be missed by friends and family.

I enjoyed working with Phyllis at Kmart
(Rainbow City).
She was a very pretty, sweet, quiet lady.
(Although she could have a temper at times, we all could during certain circumstances.)
(Her make-up was flawless, her red hair was so pretty and she was neat as a pin.)
Thoughts and prayers to you and your family during this time.
