Phyllis Jane Boles

Phyllis Jane Millsaps Boles, 72, of Apison, Tennessee passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025. Born in Chattanooga, Phyllis was a retired employee of McKee Baking where she worked for 46 years and was of the Baptist faith. Phyllis was the heart of her family, kind, nurturing and selfless. She lived her life with grace and warmth always putting others before herself. She found joy in life's simple treasures: tending to her garden, time spent at the river and trips to the beach. Above all the roles she had in life: her favorite title was Sweet Mamaw, she wore that name with pride, and it was the truest reflection of who she was, gentle, loving and always there with open arms. Sweet Mamaw's house was the family's favorite place to be, it was a haven, filled with warmth of her cooking and the beauty of her love.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Mathan and Mary Kate Rather Millsaps; and sister, Joyce (Bob) Reno. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Talley Lebron Boles: brother, Kenneth (Edna) Millsaps; two sisters, Barbara (Randy) Kennedy and Suzie Hensley; four chosen children, Meagan Crumley, Zachary (Leslie) Crumley, Kaeden Lee Kean and Jamie Boles; several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Graveside services will be held 4:30 P.M. Friday September 5, 2025, at Plowman Cemetery with Kerry Humphries officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
