Phyllis Key Bradford, 78, of Delano, departed this life peacefully on May 24, 2025, with those she loved most at her side.
She was born on December 6, 1946, in Athens, Tennessee, to the late Clifford H. and Prudie Burris Key.
Throughout life, Mrs. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, always offering a listening ear or a head-on-shoulder hug to anyone in need. She was loved by all that had the blessing of knowing her and will be deeply missed.
She loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart, and you could see her every Sunday in the house of the Lord. She also loved spending her time quilting, cooking for and vacationing with her family, reading and watching Jeopardy every night with her husband.
In addition to her parents, Clifford H. and Prudie Mazell Key, she was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Key.
Left to cherish the many memories include her beloved husband of 54 years, Claude Oliver Bradford; one daughter, Becky (Stephen) Hailey; one son, Josh Bradford; grandchildren, Ethan Hailey, Austin Hailey, and Emma Hailey; one brother, Jerry (Jean) Key; sisters-in-law, Betty Eaves, Cheryl Bradford, Judy Bradford, and Penny Key. Several extended family members and a host of friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Rev. Bert Beria officiating and Rev. Robby Hatcher speaking. A graveside committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, with Brian Key, Justin Key, Justin Ritchey, Steve Bradford, Jim Bradford and Brian Bruton serving as pallbearers.
Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
