Phyllis Sellers Britt, 82, of Spartanburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. She was born on July 9, 1942, in Chadbourn, N.C., a daughter of the late Glen and Cecile M. Buffkin Sellers. Phyllis was married to the late Roger Britt for almost 63 years before his passing in June 2023.
Phyllis was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. She was a homemaker until she decided to join the workforce in the early 1980’s. She worked for Lee’s Famous Recipe, Progress Lighting in Cowpens until it closed, and most recently at Skylyn Place Assisted Living as a caregiver until 2017. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved being outdoors, shopping, dancing, watching her “soaps” and Lifetime Movie Network, and her daily trips to Chick-Fil-A at Hillcrest.
She is survived by a son, Timothy Britt and wife, Debi of Inman; two daughters, Kelly Ruff and husband, Yates Jr. of Spartanburg, Terra Gardner and husband, Kevin of Inman; two brothers, Keith Sellers (Barbara) of Spartanburg, Mark Sellers (Teresa) of Whiteville, NC; a sister, Linda Alverson of Spartanburg; five grandchildren Kala Wilder (Ronnie) of Inman, Chelsea Dill (Josh) of Chesnee, Morgan Page (Austin) of Grovetown, GA, Kamryn-Li Gardner of Inman, and Joshua West of Woodruff; two step grandchildren, Ashley Parish (Alex) of Greenville, SC, Steven Pendley of Inman; five great grandchildren Krislyn Britt-Wilder, Christian and Malorree Solesbee, Britten Pearson, and Nicalaus Dill; her Best Friend, Selena Stevenson; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm, Monday, February 3, 2025, at Morningside Baptist Church, 897 S. Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302, with the Rev. Brandon Malone officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Bicycle Ministry, 897 S. Pine St., Spartanburg, SC 29302.
