Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Niece and Friend. Phyllis Brown was born June 5, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Catherine Jones. She received her wings on Monday, June 17, 2024 at the age of 59 years.
Ms. Brown was a Missionary of World Outreach Campus. She was a God-fearing praying woman who enjoyed reading the word of GOD and listening to her gospel music while also reading her daily prayer. She loved to go out to eat, go to movies, watch shows on television and Chinese movies where the words had to come across the television. She was a very proud mother to her daughter Geniya Brown and son, Louis Long that she loved dearly. Ms. Brown was a very proud grandmother to her grandchildren, Jahmir, Paris and Londyn. She had a smile brighter than the sun and a heart worth more than gold. Her life revolved around making her daughter Geniya and her grandkids happy. She wasn't shy to express however she felt but most of all was loving to the ones she loved dearly. She had many families and friends she associated with, for all of us we knew the ones she would call. She was an independent woman that loved to dress, wear her hats and shades. Ms. Brown always loved to call her daughter Geniya while she was working just to make sure her daughter and her grandkids were safe. Ms. Brown was a mother, so many daughters dreamed of having and a grandmother so many grandkids wish they had.
She loved to go over Bobbie Sowell's house who she considered a mother figure, she would visit just to lay on her couch talking with her like a child to a mother. Ms. Brown loved her church family Mary Clayton, Sandra Coleman, Dorris Moore and Sheila Danley. She was employed with Umbra Group for over 30 years, where she loved her work friends, Melonie Jackson, Reller, Steve, Travis, Wally and Mariona. She loved and enjoyed talking on the phone with her sisters. She loved her brother, Edmond who would do anything for her as she would do for him. She was a wonderful woman that loved to enjoy herself. She was the true meaning of "You could love yourself."
She is also survived by her lovely daughter, grandkids, sisters Jackie Sanders, Lynette Blasingame, Teresa Jones, Patricia Waughn, Mary Bailey, Darlene and Renee Jones, brothers, Parrish, Edmond Smith and Earl Jones; nieces including special niece, Gail Reid, nephews, other relatives and friends; unborn grandson, Loyal Long.
Ms. Brown was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Jones; her lovely sister, Kathy Martin and baby brother, Calvin Jones.
I come to you with two quotes closing on Ms. Brown loving and kind ways, ~upright and just to the end of latter days, sincere and true in her heart and mind, a beautiful memory she left behind, she had a nature you could not help loving, a heart that was purer than gold, and to those who knew her and loved her Ms. Brown's memory's will never get old. (2nd) God looked around his garden and he found an empty place, he then looked down upon this earth and saw a tired face, he put his arms around you and lifted you to rest, God's garden must be beautiful he always takes the best, he knew that you were suffering he knew that you would never get well on earth again, he saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb, so he closed your weary eyelids and whisper peace be thine, it broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024 at World Outreach Campus, 2405 Bay Rd., Saginaw, MI 48602. Bishop Hurley J. Coleman, Jr. will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI, 48601. Visitation will take place on Sunday at the funeral home from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.

I worked with Ms. Brown at a plant when it was called Umbra... She was an extremely nice co-worker. I remember her always welcoming and lending a helping hand to everyone but especially those that were new! We all loved when she would put on her Mowtown CD's and just play her music. She even invited us to bring in our own CD's to play on her small stereo. May God be with all that will miss her and all who loved her!
