Phyllis J. (Cicco) Coleman, 90, Carbondale, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Allied Services Hospice, Scranton. Her husband, the late Edward W. Coleman, died in 2020.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Dominick and Catherine (Torchella) Cicco, she was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially when playing Bingo.
Phyllis’s survivors include a daughter, Maribeth Ciprian, Carbondale; a son, Edward Coleman and his wife Judy, Richmondale; a sister, Mary Cicco Kuper, Endwell; her grandchildren, Eric Ciprian, Mountain Top; Gino Ciprian (Kayla Fuga), Lake Ariel; Michael Ciprian, Pittston; Edward Coleman (Amanda), Browndale; Christopher Coleman (Jamie), West Chester; her great-grandchildren Mia and Liam Coleman; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Cicco; three brothers, Phil, Eugene, and Joe Cicco; and a son-in-law, Chuck Ciprian.
The family wishes to thank Commonwealth Regional Hospital of Scranton as well as Allied Services Hospice Unit of Scranton for their kind and compassionate care provided to Phyllis.
The funeral will be Monday, January 12, 2026, from Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Parish at St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale. Interment will follow in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
Family and friends are invited to attend Phyllis’s viewing which will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
