Phyllis Crader Obituary

Phyllis Ann Crader
May 18, 1934 - April 29, 2022
Swansea, Illinois - Phyllis Ann Crader, nee Mercer, 87, of Swansea, IL, born Friday, May 18, 1934, in West Frankfort, IL, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022, at St. Paul's Home in Belleville, IL.
A sociable woman who made friends easily, Phyllis loved her family unconditionally. This was shown by her working as a data entry specialist for Bank of America. It was not a career, but allowed her to provide for her family, and that was good enough. As the daughter of a Southern Illinois coal miner, she understood the ups and downs of life and always made time for those in need. Phyllis loved country music, antiquing with friends, playing Bunco, tending to her flower garden, was talented at crocheting, and approached shopping like an Olympic sport. Phyllis was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren R Crader Sr.; son, Jeffrey Crader; parents, Arthur Mercer and Ruby Nell, nee Neal, Mercer and brother, Arthur Dean Mercer.
Surviving are her children, Warren "Reed" (Joyce) Crader Jr. of Millstadt, IL, Bryan A (Annette Oren) Crader of Belleville, IL, Scott N (Sonya) Crader of Huntington Beach, CA, Susan (Bill) Gustafson of St. Peters, MO and Philip (Donna) Crader of Lebanon, IL; sister, Lisa Mercer of Golconda, IL; sister-in-law, Pauline R Crader of O'Fallon, IL; grandchildren, Kristin (Curt) McMahon, Elizabeth (Scott) English, Jeff (Lacy) Miller, Andrew (fiancé Stacey Hicks) Crader, Noah Crader, Alex Crader, Michelle ( Dan) Nguyen, Molly Crader and Bianca Crader; great grandchildren, Brianna, Bethany, and Alexa English, Maximus and Morgan McMahon, Mia Crader, Aaron and Ruby Draper, Cecilia Annabelle and Piper Marie Miller; step-grandchildren, Brad (Angela) Pfeffer, Stacy (Patrick) Richmond and Shelly Pfeffer; Bill (Cyndy) Gustafson III, Mark (Kristina) Gustafson, David (Elaine) Gustafson, Stephanie (Andre) Setaghian; Josh (Danielle McNulty) Weidler, Bobby (Ashley) Weidler, John (Taylor) Brown; step-great grandchildren, Jenna and Emily Pfeffer, Regan and Lauren Richmond and Jace Pfeffer; Sophia, A.J., and Christine, Ian, Logan, Alex, and Kiera Gustafson and Tiffany and Zachary Setaghian; Lorelei Weidler, Conner and Peyton McNulty, Landon, Owen and Cael Weidler, Dallas, Makenzie, Levi, Adalynn, and Reese Brown, and dear nieces and nephews.
