Phyllis J. Cypcar

Phyllis Josephine Cypcar, 74, passed away on November 12th, 2024, in Park Ridge, Illinois. Born on January 19th, 1950, Phyllis was cherished for her kindness, caring, and humorous nature. She was a beacon of positivity and hope, often sharing her wisdom to guide others.
Phyllis's unwavering dedication to education was a source of inspiration for all who knew her. She served as a science teacher for middle school students at St. Margaret Mary and as a substitute teacher at Notre Dame High School for boys in Niles, Illinois. Her alma maters, St. Scholastica and DePaul University, were proud to have her as a student. Her commitment to learning and teaching was truly remarkable.
Phyllis's faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and comfort. She was an active member of St. Paul of the Cross in Park Ridge, Illinois. Her hobbies included shopping, playing the piano, dancing, and, most importantly, being a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was a generous supporter of St. Joseph's Indian School and the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
Phyllis's love for her family was a guiding light in her life. She is survived by her loving husband, Phillip; daughter, Alexis; son-in-law, Mike; granddaughter, Misha; brothers, Charlie, Jeffrey, and Albert; sister, Gerri; sister-in-law, Treska; nephew, Albert; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her love and care will always be remembered. She was preceded in death by her parents, Philomena and Albert.
A celebration of her life will be held on November 23rd, with visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 W. Busse Hwy., Park Ridge, Illinois 60068. The service time is pending.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The St. Joseph's Indian School in Chamberlain, South Dakota, an organization dear to Phyllis's heart.
