Miller Mortuary - LiberalPhyllis D Ann Eaton, 88, passed away on Friday September 26, 2025 at her home north of Liberal.
She was born on September 20, 1937 to Fred and Ruby (Rhiness) Smith at Kismet, KS.
Phyllis was a strong willed woman as many of her family & friends would attest. She worked for 15 years at the Et Cetera Shop where she worked in the receiving & sorting area. Before working at the Et Cetera Shop she had alsoworked at the South Pizza Hut as a Manager for 10 years. Phyllis enjoyed nature, gardening, antiquing, and attending estate sales. She loved animals and would care for many over the years at her home in the country.
She is survived by her Two Daughters, Mary Jane Gray (Kelly) of Liberal, KS and Brenda Lindquist; Seven Grandchildren, Matthew Gray, Erica Gray, Blacke Whan, Alyssa Allen, Shannon Rich, Jessica Ober, and Katrina Jones; several grandkids, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Son, Thomas Whan; Daughter, Debra Jones; Grandchildren, Tyler (Shrek) Boland, Chris Jones, and Baby David; one Great Grandchild, Baby Chase; Three Brothers, Lloyd Smith, Lewis (Smitty) Smith, and Delose (Bus) Smith; Two Sisters, Mari Helen Anderson and Alice (Baby Alice) Smith; Daughter in Law, Marilee Smith; Brother in Law, Bob Anderson.
Per Phyllis's wishes there will be no public viewing.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, 11:00 am at Banner Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at Miller Mortuary to follow in Procession to Banner Cemetery; the Procession will leave at 10:30 am.
With Phyllis' fondness of animals, the family has set up an account at Community Bank for Memorial Donations to help aid with a "Spay & Neuter Drive"
