Phyllis Ann Fite

Phyllis Ann Fite, age 77 of Gallatin, Tennessee passed from this life to her Heavenly home on Monday, January 12, 2026. Phyllis was born on September 21, 1948 in Poteau, Oklahoma to the late Wiley Porter and Ella Kathryn Clark.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Fite; brothers, Gene Clark and Ralph Clark.

She is survived by her son, David Fite; daughter, Valerie Carter; granddaughter, Morgan Swartzentruber; grandson, Nathan Fite; great grandsons, Riley Swartzentruber and Caspian Fite; great granddaughter, Evelyn Swartzentruber; brother, Wilburn Clark.

Phyllis did a lot with a little. Despite having no college degree, she became an accountant and even Assistant Comptroller at the college where she worked.

A mother at eighteen, she ran a household, raised two children, was active in her church and managed a career. She navigated a life-threatening illness in her daughter and countless physical afflictions in herself. She faced these challenges with grace and humor right up to the time she left us. Her presence will leave a lasting void but she will remain in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 17th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Hendersonville with Rev. Matt Pinson and Pastor Jesse Owens officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be at the funeral home on Saturday, January 17th from 12:00 PM until service time at 3:00 PM.
