Hettie Oliphant Obituary
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Oliphant; father of her daughters, Arthur Oliphant; long time companion, Wayne Caruthers; brother, W. S. Miller; sisters, Annie Chenault, Mary Elizabeth Forrester, Bessie Mae Daniel and Martha Mayberry.
She is survived by her daughter, Dottie (Cliff) Babits; grandchildren, Rachel (Jason) DeLoach, Amanda Hickman, Brandy (Mike) Tragiani and Corey (Sutton) Barnes; great grandchildren, Drake Hickman, Wyatt DeLoach and Alayziah Mitchell.
Hettie found joy in life's simple pleasures and in staying active. She faithfully attended the YMCA, where she could often be found walking miles around the track before heading to her water aerobics class. After her workouts, she treasured quiet moments on her back porch, watching her hummingbirds flutter about while catching up on her favorite soap operas. She delighted in baking cakes and generously sharing them with friends, a reflection of her giving spirit. Trips to Florida with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were among her most cherished memories filled with laughter and time well spent together. Above all, she loved people. She had a huge heart, was always doing for others, and she loved deeply and well. Her kindness and warmth touched everyone, blessed to know her.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 21st at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Hendersonville. Visitation for family and friends will be at the funeral home on Saturday, February 21st from 12:00 PM until service time at 1:00 PM.
