Shirley Vann Granstaff, 84, went to be with the Lord on January 28, 2026. Shirley was born in Grimsley, Tennessee in Fentress County on December 8, 1941.

She was educated in Bledsoe and Cumberland County schools and was a graduate of Cumberland County High School in Crossville Tennessee. She got her B.S. degree in Elementary Education at Middle Tennessee State University.

Shirley was a beloved teacher at Metro and Sumner County schools.

On November 23, 1968, Shirley married the love of her life and husband of 58 years, John M. Granstaff who survives her; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hope and Maggie Vann; brother, Dr. Harold Vann; sisters, Lucille Vann Evans and Mary Vann Rackley.

Shirley was very lovable. She was intelligent, generous, and loved the Lord. A member of Hendersonville Church of Christ, she was a student of the Bible and read from it daily.

Shirley will be greatly missed by her husband, family and friends.

In addition to family, Shirley and John have been very appreciative of some special neighbors and friends who have helped and blessed them. Special thanks to: Joe Brown, Carleen Noble, Joan Suddarth (TB & J Total Heart), Daniel Leath, Lee and Paul Anglin, Johnnie Anglin, Matt and Amy Murphy and their children Nash, Quinn and Drew and Genny, Curt and the employees of Hendersonville Health Mart Pharmacy.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 16th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Hendersonville with David Swanger officiating. Interment will follow the service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Murfreesboro, Tennessee with Eddie Evans, Turner Evans, Greg Vann, Steve Vann, Roger Vann and Paul Anglin serving as pallbearers. Visitation for family and friends will be at the funeral home on Monday, February 16th from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.
