Phyllis Godaire Obituary
Phyllis Godaire, 87, of Agawam MA entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Born in Rutland, Vermont, daughter of the late Vivian G. Sargent (Young). Phyllis was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Robert "Bob" W. Godaire. She was the devoted mother of Linda Parenteau and her husband Richard "Pete" Parenteau Sr., Marsha Kingsley, Diane Salva and her husband Edmund Salva and Mark. L Godaire (predeceased) and his wife Rachael Godaire. Cherished grandmother "Granny" to Melissa Parenteau, Christopher Godaire, Peter Kingsley, Scott and Jennifer Godaire, and Justin Salva. Phyllis also leaves behind many treasured family members in Vermont, as well as extended family and valued friends throughout the country. Phyllis worked for a span of years as an insurance agent, eventually retiring from Smith & Toner Insurance Agency, Longmeadow, MA. During retirement she and her husband Bob enjoyed spending the winter months on Pawley's Island, South Carolina. Phyllis enjoyed many activities such as boating, swimming, bowling, and golfing. She enjoyed traveling and seeing new places; especially long car rides which lead to unexpected destinations. Phyllis also enjoyed reading, playing various board and card games as well as relaxing and spending quality time with family and friends. She was a lifetime member of The Polish American Club, Feeding Hills, MA. where she spent much time enjoying the company of friends and family for parties, dinners and playing bingo. Phyllis was loved and adored by many and will be missed dearly. Her family is grateful and acknowledges the outstanding staff at Vantage Health and Rehab of Westfield as well as the Beacon Hospice team for the exceptional comfort and care they provided to her. The family will receive guests at her Celebration of Life Service, which will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at 1:30PM at Westfield Evangelical Free Church, 568 Southwick Road, Westfield. Burial will be private.
