Phyllis A. Hale, age 72 of Newport, formerly of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. She had been in declining health for three years.
Born March 19, 1950 in Middlesboro, KY, Phyllis was the daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Racey) Sears. On November 27, 1992, she married Randy E. Hale in Toledo, OH. Sadly, he passed away on January, 7, 2019.
She had worked at the SSIHM Motherhouse and Benesh Building for many years before her retirement.
Phyllis enjoyed crocheting, reading her Bible, camping, the beauty of butterflies, doing yardwork, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Phyllis is survived by two daughter, Dawn (Greg) Brown of LaSalle and Carrie Hill of Newport; sister, Vina Sears of Springhill, FL; brother, Jack (Michelle) Clouse of Monroe; eight grandchildren: Ashley (Nick) Thornton, Tanisha (Robert) Boudrie, Nicole (Derrick Upp) Brown, Christina Mommerency, Emily Mommerency, Joshua Mommerency, Kayla Mommerency, Alexus Mommerency; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis was also preceded in death by a brother, Keith Clouse.
Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation and interment arrangements. All are invited to attend a committal service on Thursday at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park. Rev. Harold Raines will officiate.
