Phyllis Pfund Hiley

Phyllis was born in Elmhurst, Illinois on August 23, 1933, and went home into the loving arms of the Lord Jesus Christ on June 2, 2025. She graduated from Elmhurst High School and attended Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL, from 1951-1953. She managed and co-owned her family's Pfund Gifts in Lombard, IL from 1956 to 1963. She was married in 1963 to Paul C. Hiley, Sr. and recently celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Phyllis was an avid cook, loved gardening and hosting many large family gatherings where she delighted in spending time with her grandchildren. She raised her five children in Lakewood, NJ, where she also volunteered her time managing the gift shop at Kimball Medical Center. As a lover of arts and music, she enthusiastically fundraised for the revival of the Strand Theater. She was a long-time congregant at Christ United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She loved keeping up with NBA games and was a true fan.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, Liebhart and Helen (Turner) Pfund; brother, LeRoy Pfund and his wife Mabel, and sister Ruth Muzzy and her husband Robert.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Paul C. Hiley, MD; 5 children, Paul C. Hiley, Jr. (Doris) of Aberdeen, NJ; Chris Hiley Donohue of Greenacres, FL; Mark Hiley (Tara) of Savannah, GA; Carole (Richard) Zeltman of Ft. Myers, FL; and Stephen Hiley (Michelle) of San Francisco, CA;9 grandchildren, Lauren and Allison Hiley, Aberdeen, NJ; Corey and Connor Donohue, Ft. Pierce, FL, Ryan (Brenna) Hiley, Chatham, NJ and Sean Hiley, Columbia, SC; Julianna Zeltman, Denver, CO, and Olivia Zeltman, Ft. Myers, FL and Ava Hiley, San Francisco, CA and 2 great grandchildren; Isabella Hiley and Joseph Hiley, Chatham, NJ.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 10:30 to Noon at Palm Royale Funeral Home & Cemetery, 6790 Vanderbilt Beach Rd. Naples, FL 34119.
