Ercell Everett Bishop

Ercell Everett Bishop, 93, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, in Naples, Florida.
Born on August 9, 1932, in Atwood, Kansas, Ercell grew up in the heartland of America and attended Atwood High School. In 1970, he moved with his family to Naples, Florida, where he would spend the remainder of his life building a legacy rooted in hard work and dedication.
Throughout his career, Ercell worked in the trailer business and was also involved in maintenance and farming. His strong work ethic and practical skills were hallmarks of his professional life. Whether tending to fields or solving mechanical problems, he approached each task with determination and care.
Ercell was a man who valued family above all else. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Saundra Thomas (Mike), Rex Bishop (Ana), and Debra LaCroix (Lawrence), all of Naples, Florida. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Johney Fullen (Matria) of Tampa, FL; Douglas LaCroix (Erika) of Naples, FL; Bradley LaCroix (Mikayla) of Melbourne, FL; Mandy Bishop (fiancé Mario Rodriguez) of Naples, FL and Michelle Bishop Gorrostieta (Elio) of Naples, FL. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Riley LaCroix, Theo LaCroix, Quinn LaCroix, Orion LaCroix, Vance LaCroix, and Elio Bishop Gorrostieta.
Ercell was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Bishop, who passed away on May 31, 2002. Their enduring bond remains a cherished memory for those who knew them.
A man of simple pleasures, Ercell enjoyed traveling and playing cards. He was also a member of the Methodist faith.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting tribute to a life well lived. A viewing will be held on January 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Palm Royale Funeral Home & Cemetery, 6790 Vanderbilt Beach Rd., with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM. Entombment will follow at 1:30 p.m.
