Gary Bishop

Gary Bishop, a cherished husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Caroga Lake, NY, on February 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on December 21, 1967, in Pomona, CA, he was the son of the late William Bishop and Catherine Watson Bishop.

Gary was the embodiment of a family man, having celebrated 26 beautiful years of marriage with his wife, Anna Bishop, whom he married on July 12, 1999, and survives him. Together, they built a family defined by love, laughter, and mutual respect.

Gary was a proud member of the Local 291 Union Carpenter out of Albany, NY. He enjoyed everything outdoors. He was an avid hunter. He also loved and had so much passion for camping, hiking, fishing, and exploring everything that the Adirondack had to offer which his children and grandchildren inherited. He loved playing with his grandchildren every chance he got. His idea of relaxing was sitting on a beach drinking an ice-cold beer with family and friends. He achieved his lifelong goal of traveling to Hawaii twice and climbing the Stairway to Heaven. He is finally reunited with his furry best friend Zeus aka Pig.

Gary is also survived by his children, Stacia Hayner, Jennifer Romaine, Robert (Amanda) Bishop, and Gary Bishop II; grandchildren, Catherine, Joseph, and Charisma Hayner, Christian and Keegan Jones, Liam, and Tyler Bishop; brothers, William and Robert Bishop

In addition to his parents, Gary was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Bishop.

Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Monday February 9th, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.

There will be no service, and a graveside will immediately follow the calling hours at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda, NY.

Memorial donations in Gary's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
