Robert Duffek Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A. G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 16, 2026.
Robert Duffek, age 68, of Gloversville, passed away on March 12, 2026.

Born June 1, 1957, to Paul and Lola Duffek, living on a dairy farm at the site where FMCC is now.

Being the youngest brother to Paul – John and Mike both passed before him, but he got two very special nephews who enriched Bobs life - Kenny (Theresa) who is like a son and Andy (Tabitha).

In 1976 he met and became friends with Carol MacGregor at Shermans. Being and remaining friends, he married her on August 18, 1990. He passed in her arms on March 12, 2026.

March 1991 they were blessed their first daughter, Dianna Lula, finding out on her birthday she had a rare disorder called Rett syndrome. Bob was the best caring father. They were then blessed with their second daughter, Bethany, with medical issues. Bob never shied away from life's challenges.

Besides spending time with his girls at home, they would go to car shows with his red 1969 Chevy pickup, winning many trophies. He also enjoyed renting cabins by the lake, fishing, walking along the river, and campfires. He was a big rock music fan from 1970 to 1980 having hundreds of albums and CDs. Bob was a master electrician starting with John Davin and then landing with Sean Hardy as a union electrician ending with owning his own company "power + light done rite". He had back surgery which left him at his most "favorite" job, stay at home Dad. He loved his Native American heritage; he was a proud hippie and Indian.

Leaving behind his wife and daughter, future son in law Connor Ellsworth, Makayla, Patrick, Amber Arthur, and Idajo; sister-in-law, Cathy Landrio (Dennis); brother-in-law, Cail MacGregor (Margaret); longtime friends Cathy and Boosh, Gary and Helen, Tom; as well as 7 nieces.

A celebration of life will be held on April 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Church of Nazarene, 3316 State Highway 29, Johnstown, NY, 12078. No children please.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
