Kenneth “Ken” Daly

Kenneth "Ken" Daly, 83, of Johnstown, NY, passed away after a long illness on March, 9, 2026. Born and raised in Whitesboro, NY, he was the son of the late George and Catherine (Coogan) Daly.

Ken is survived by his devoted wife, Sybil (Milotte) Daly, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage-a partnership marked by loyalty, humor, and deep affection. He was predeceased by his three brothers, James Daly, Terry Daly and Dennis Daly, all from the Utica NY area, and his half-brother Roderick from Clinton Township, MI.

Ken leaves behind four children who were the pride of his life: Michele Suchy (Jim) of Clinton, NY, Robin Daly of St. Petersburg, FL, Scott Daly (Denise) of Burnham, PA and Timothy Daly (Carrie) of Yardley, PA. He is also survived by seven cherished grandchildren-Kayla, Ben, Shelby, Melanie, Rachel, Julia, and Norah-each of whom brought him immense joy along with his 9 great grandchildren.

Ken built a long and respected career as the General Manager of Fulmont News in Amsterdam, NY, where he worked for more than 30 years. Afterward, he fulfilled a longtime dream by opening Daly's Liquor Mart in Palatine Bridge, NY, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 2015. Known for his quick wit, sharp humor, and easy rapport with everyone he met, Ken made an impression wherever he went. He enjoyed playing golf, sharing laughs with friends, and cheering-often loudly-for his beloved New York Yankees.

Viewing hours will be held at A.G. Cole Funeral Home in Johnstown, NY on March 13, 2026 from 4pm to 6pm with a private service for family to be held immediately following the viewing.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association to support their efforts in advancing research and finding a cure for dementia.
