Phyllis Cheryl Jones

Phyllis Jones (nee Grider) 79 of Fontana went home to be with her savior Jesus Christ on Feb 27,2026 surrounded by her devoted family.

Phyllis was born on Oct 8,1946 in Champaign IL to Bill and Marilyn Grider. She moved to Bloomington in 1952 and was a life long resident of the Fontana area. Phyllis dedicated 32 years of service to Bloomington High School as ASB secretary. If you bought an ASB card from 1976-2008 you bought it from Mrs Jones.

Her deep love of Jesus was evident in the way she served others. Phyllis joyfully greeted and served at Calvary Chapel Rialto for many years before becoming a cherished member at Grandview Baptist in Grand Terrace. She was loved dearly by her church families everywhere she served.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill Grider, sister Patti Strauch and her dog Daisy.

She is survived by her sister Jodie Vallecorsa of Bloomington, son and daughter-in-law Tom and Theresa Jones of Grand Terrace, 7 grandchildren; Samantha Gorham, Cody Smith-Dupray, Daniel and Kayla Martinez, Kim Yanez, Ciara Yanez, and 4 great grandchildren Isaiah, Matthew, Josiah, and Delilah.

Phyllis will be remembered for her love of Jesus, her servant's heart, her love of family, and her love of laughter.
