Phyllis Irene Lanz, 87, of Carrier Mills, IL passed away Friday, November 28, 2025 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN.
Phyllis was born on September 11, 1938 in Winterset, IA to the late Nesto and Geraldine (Kramer) Yates. She married DuWayne Robert Lanz whom preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church. Phyllis loved to read her bible, she loved to witness to people and tell them about God. She also loved talking to and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her Brother: Melvin Yates of Carrier Mills, IL; Nieces and Nephews: Rita (John) Simmons of Des Moines, IA; Virginia (Bill) Anderson of Yonkers, NY; Peggy (Ricky) Canty, Charles Canty, Lisa Canty, Kay Canty and Bobby (Jim) Schmerhorn all of Des Moines, IA and several great nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Sister: Doris Canty; Brother in Law: Hallie Canty and Sister in Law: Judy Yates.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL.
Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 5, 2025 in the Winterset Cemetery in Winterset, Iowa.
