Phyllis Mathis Obituary
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 11, 2023 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Dr. Brent Barker and Rev. J. Barry Worrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Coffeeville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at McKibben and Guinn.
Survivors include one son, Freddie Chapman(Anita) of Grenada; brother, Dale Magee of Royal Center, IN; son-in-law, David Herron of Charleston; five grandchildren, Clay Herron(Angie), Emily Flautt(Alben), Melissa Chapman(James Gilmer), Caroline O'Brien(Brennan) and Cameron Chapman(Christina); 13 great-grandchildren, Ashley Herron, Kaleigh Gilmer, Aubrey Claire Flautt, Drew Snyder, Trey Gilmer, Lily Snyder, Sadie Snyder, Allie Flautt, Elizabeth O'Brien, Penn Flautt, Bryland Gilmer, Thomas O'Brien and Alice O'Brien.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lynn Herron; sister, Mary Carlson and brother, Doug Magee.
Cameron Chapman, Alben Flautt, Penn Flautt, James Gilmer, Clay Herron, David Herron, Brennan O'Brien, Thomas O'Brien and Drew Snyder will honor Phyllis by serving as pallbearers and carry her to rest in the Coffeeville Cemetery.

Miss Phyllis was such a good friend to my mom(Iris Stanford) and family. She brought chicken spaghetti over one day while I was visiting and when she got home she called me and said " come over to my house and get the chicken. I forgot to put it in!!!" We laughed so much. She didn´t want me to tell anybody. I loved that lady and know she and Mother and daddy are having a grand time praising the Lord in heaven. Sonja Walker

Miss Phyllis was one of my moms best friend. (Iris Stanford). She would always visit when I came home and we would laugh so much. Our family loved her so much and I know mother and daddy had a great reunion with her in heaven. Sonja walker
