Rickey Gene Mathis

Rickey Gene " Elder Rick" Mathis, of Rockford departed this earthly life December 7, 2025. He was born November 27, 1955 in Albany, Georgia the son of Eugene and Liller Mathis. Rickey lived in Rockford since 1988 coming from Albany. He married the former Janice Crumbley, September 27, 1987. Rickey was employed as a material handler by Chrysler Corporation 11 years before retiring. He was a co-founder and member of Miracle Revival Outreach, where he served as an Elder and head of the Men's Ministry. Rickey graduated from Westover High School in Albany, Georgia.

Rickey leaves to cherish many loving memories, his wife Janice Mathis; two daughters, Arlecia "Lisa" Threbits Mathis and Tina Threbits-Mathis; two sons, Erik Crumbley-Mathis and Elijah Mathis; three grandchildren, Zaavion Parham, King Crumbley, and London Mathis; two sisters, Beverly Akano, Charlotte ( Otis ) Roberts; two brothers, Timothy (Vanessa) Mathis and Wayne Mathis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; granddaughter Dimon Williams; three brothers and three sisters.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 18, 2025 at House of God 840 Brooke Road Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
