We are here to pay tribute to our beloved grandmother, Louise Mathis. Louise Ineazer Mathis was born on July 4th, 1925, to Dan and Mattie Scott in LaGrange, TX. She married Frank Mathis in Hobbs, New Mexico September 1951 and he preceded her in death in November 1979. Louise was a longtime manager at Dunbar High School Cafeteria.

God graced her to live 100 years on this earth which many people do not see. She was a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was truly special. She was a remarkable woman who had strength and was resilient, who exemplified courage, bounced back from setbacks and disappointments. She mentioned the challenging times, and trials that she endured with the help and grace of God. She cared for and expressed concern for family, and she prayed for her family often. She also was humorous and told interesting stories. She would say that she was not perfect, but she never gave up and leaned on Jesus. She would always say a quote, "God sits high and looks low" which means that God sees everything that is going on.

Most importantly, she was a woman of faith and a Christian. We prayed together and discussed Jesus. We will miss her deeply, but she was ready to see Jesus' face to face. She even told us that she had an encounter with Jesus about going home to see Him.

She is preceded in death by her mother Mattie Scott, her father Dan Scott, her husband Frank Mathis, and her daughter-in-law Elsa Williams.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons Roy Williams (Katie) of Lubbock, TX, and Troy Williams of Abilene, TX, her grandchildren Tangala Williams and Bobby Williams both of Lubbock, TX, Louisa Marie Parsons of Tye, TX, Franklin Williams and Antonio Williams (Mary Katherine) all of Abilene, TX, her six great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
