Barbara Jean Mathis

Barbara Jean Mathis, of Versailles, Kentucky, passed away on February 8, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Barbara was born on August 13, 1937 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, to the late Howard O. and Ida Rhae Bream Barrick, Sr. Barbara was a retired bus driver from the Woodford County Schools. Barbara dedicated her life to raising her children and helping care for her many grandchildren. She was a member of the Versailles Church of God, and she enjoyed singing and playing the piano.

She is survived by her children, Carl Reynolds (Marcy), Ricky Reynolds (Pam), Tony Reynolds (Loretta), Brian Reynolds (Trish), Benji Reynolds (Amber), sister, Grace Lamb, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.

She was preceded death in addition to her parents, husband, Roy Mathis, sisters, Dorothy Harmon, Martha Soard, Ethel Lancster, Helen Stewart, Betty Barrick, brothers, Howard Barrick Jr., Stanley Barrick, and Benjamin Luther Barrick

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, also at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Zack Reynolds, Anothony Reynolds, Mistie Reynolds, Ricky Reynolds Jr., Jorden Reynolds, Roy Soard, and Wyatt Courtney.
