Phyllis McCann

Phyllis McCann, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, at the age of 79 in Lakewood, NJ. Born on November 18, 1945, in Hackensack, Phyllis lived in Kearney, Brick Township, Toms River & Manchester NJ. Phyllis was the cherished daughter of Sarah and Charles Jankowski, and is predeceased by her beloved husband, Bill McCann. She was also the loving sister to Irene Liva and Barbara Shenego.
Phyllis attended Kearney High School in New Jersey. Her career was marked by her compassionate service with Visiting Home Makers, where she touched the lives of many. Beyond her professional life, Phyllis was an avid lover of animals, with a particular fondness for dogs and birds. Her passion for travel took her to many places, enriching her life with experiences and stories that she would share with her family and friends. Phyllis also found great joy in reading, a hobby that allowed her to explore worlds beyond her own and continue her lifelong love of learning.
She was a loving mother to her children, Charles, Brian, Bob Weir, and Jeanette Maarleveld. Grandmother to Brian Jr, Kevin, Daniel, Tina, Ashley, Gia, Katelynn, and Alexis, and great-grandmother to Alexis, Davon, Ryan, Jackson, and Maggie. Each relationship was nurtured with care, and her presence in their lives will be profoundly missed.
Phyllis McCann's life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
