Phyllis Jean (Kreps) Monge was born on December 21, 1933, in Holland Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Fred and Helena (Bonnema) Kreps. Phyllis was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth at the First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg, Minnesota. Phyllis received her elementary education at the Prinsburg Christian School and was a graduate of the Clara City High School Class of 1951, in Clara City, Minnesota. She furthered her education by attending Saint Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota and received an Associate of Arts Degree in 1983. On June 14, 1951, Phyllis was united in marriage to Darold Stutelberg. This marriage was blessed with 4 children. Phyllis and Darold resided in Mobile, Alabama and various other cities before moving to Hutchinson, Minnesota. On January 1, 1981, Phyllis was united in marriage to Kenneth Monge at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Hutchinson. They resided in Hutchinson and shared 19 years of marriage, until Kenneth passed away on February 3, 2000. Phyllis held employment in various positions at 3M in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She retired in August of 1991. Phyllis was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, served on the Evangelical Committee, as a Catechist, and a Befriender, on the Lutheran Social Services Board and also as a church council member. Phyllis also volunteered at Burns Manor Nursing Home, Birthright, and was an Advocate for Domestic Abuse Victims. Phyllis traveled to Nicaragua several times for Fair Trade USA, an organization that helps empower women coffee growers. Phyllis enjoyed Bible studies, reading, crocheting and traveling. She traveled to Nicaragua and Mexico several times through work with volunteer organizations. She was a talented writer and loved to write poetry. Phyllis especially enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Phyllis passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the age of 79 years. Blessed be her memory. Phyllis is survived by her: Children, Debbie Nelson-Moos and her husband, Doug of Saint Francis, MN, Lon Stutelberg and Denise DeBoer of Minnetonka, MN, Lori Robinson and her husband, Tobin of Ramsey, MN, Dan Stutelberg and Sieglinde Stutelberg of Hutchinson, MN; Step-Children, Michael Monge and his wife, Carmen of Faribault, MN, Beth Hanson and her husband, Jack of Redman, OR, Peggy Feaski and her husband, Tom of Niceville, FL, Patty Pearce and her husband, Greg of Hutchinson, MN Grandchildren; Jeremy Stutelberg, Jon Stutelberg, Brandon Nelson, Jesse Ringaman, Alison Ringaman, Cherish Clough, Stephanie Ringaman, Michael Ringaman, Ashley Ringaman, Renee Banie, Heidi McConnell, Andrew Monge, David Monge, Rob Maas, John Maas, Josh Pearce, Katie Fasching, Nicole Berwald; 22 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Granchild; Sister, Brenda Mullen and her husband, George of Norristown, PA, Arvilla Berghuis of Litchfield, MN; Brother, Jack Kreps and his wife, Caroline of Willmar, MN; Sister-In-Law, Marilyn Kreps of Andover, MN; Many Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends. Phyllis is preceded in death by her Parents, Fred and Helena Kreps; Husband, Kenneth Monge; Husband, Darold Stutelberg; Siblings, Wilma Young, Myrtilla Raske, Gerald Kreps, and Junior Kreps.
