Phyllis D. Rayburn, a beloved member of the Floyds Knobs, Indiana community, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, at the age of 85. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, on November 8, 1939, Phyllis lived a life marked by love, service, and faith.
Phyllis was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is lovingly remembered by her son, David Rayburn, and his wife Tina of Borden, Indiana; her sister, Linda Heater; her grandson, Dustin Rayburn; nieces and nephews, Lacie Enbank Ann Arms, John Arms, Lora Arms Ramen Arms and Michael Arms; and her precious great-grandchildren, John Enbank, Nolan Enbank, Lucas Enbank, and Judy Enbank. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Myra Nall; her beloved husband, Forrest L. Rayburn; her brother, Curtis "Sonny" White and her sisters, Donna White-Voyles, Jenny Arms and Anne Doglos.
In her professional life, Phyllis served in a clerical position, lending her talents to the Napa Auto Parts Corporate Office in Louisville, Kentucky. She was also a graduate of Liberty Bible College, where she cultivated her deep-rooted faith.
A member of Graceland Baptist Church, Phyllis shared her passion for teaching by leading Sunday school classes. She was also proud to be the wife of an evangelical preacher, writing heartfelt songs for her husband, whose ministry and music touched many lives.
Phyllis's life will be celebrated in a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 14, 2025 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with entombment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
Visitation for Phyllis will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
