Phyllis Ann Stover

Phyllis Ann Stover passed peacefully at her home in Crossville on September 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous 20-year battle with leukemia. She will be deeply missed.

Born on September 17, 1946, Phyllis was a lifelong resident of Crossville and a proud 1964 graduate of Cumberland County High School. In 1968, she married her beloved Conald, and together they raised two children and built a life rooted in faith and family.

She was well known for her humble determination and tireless work ethic. Her career spanned fields, factories, banking, and business. She began as a field hand, later managed the night shift at Monticello and went on to work at First National Bank and Perdue Farms. She spent 13 years co-owning Family Footwear with her sisters, Sandra and Kay, before concluding her working years at the family's Swallows Truss. In every role, she gave her best and built lasting friendships along the way.

Phyllis cherished life's simple joys and shared her gifts generously. A masterful cook, devoted gardener, vibrant storyteller, and happy traveler- she found her deepest joy in being a wife, mother and grandmother. Among her most cherished memories was a roadtrip out West with all five of her grandchildren in 2024.

As a pillar of Crossville First Freewill and Rinnie Baptist Church, Phyllis served wherever she was needed, teaching Sunday School, singing with The Rinnie Girls, and directing church plays. She led by example, leaving a legacy of devoted service, and was remembered by friends as "a force in the Rinnie community." Above all, Phyllis' life was anchored in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 57 years, Conald Stover; her son Wade and daughter-in-law Becky Stover; her daughter Holly and son-in-law Allen Webb; grandchildren, Blake, Dawson, and Ashton Hassler, and Allie and Bryce Stover; sisters, Kay Cox and Sandra Swallows; brothers, Keith and Michael Farmer; and a wide community of family and loved ones who will forever honor her example of grace, generosity, and enduring faith.

She is preceded in death by her father, Rudolph Farmer; her mother, Marcel Lowe Farmer; and her brother, Stanley Farmer.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday September 23, 2025 at 3pm at Crossville City Cemetery. The family has respectfully asked that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, PO Box 98018, Washington, Dc, 20090-8018.
