Phyllis Marie Thompson, age 59 of Gatesville, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
The family will receive visitors at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Phyllis was born on August 4, 1964, to Jack and Kay Edwards in Belton. She attended school in Gatesville and graduated in 1982. She resided in Gatesville most of her adult life where she raised her three children. Phyllis worked many years for Allergan (AbbVie) in Waco where she met her husband, Mickey.
Phyllis enjoyed traveling, particularly cruising and going to Renaissance festivals in the Houston, Dallas and Austin areas. She liked science fiction and once met William Shatner (AKA Captain Kirk). She was an avid reader of romance novels and wrote beautiful poetry when she was young.
Phyllis will be remembered for her beautiful blonde hair, her big heart and the love she had for her family. Her strength was admirable even through difficult situations. From her strength, she gave strength to those around her, especially her children.
Phyllis is survived by her parents; husband, Mickey Molina; sons, Austin Edwards and wife, Andrea; Cody Thompson and wife, Amanda; daughter, Aimee Thompson; brothers, Jack Edwards, Jr. and wife, Linda; Robert Edwards and wife, Julie; Joseph Edwards and wife, Amanda; and Joshua Edwards; grandchildren, Jayce, Dixie, John Austin, Lillie, Tatum, Layla, Emma, Quinton, and Claire.
