Beverly Jean Sylvester Smith of Temple, Texas passed away on February 16, 2026. Private memorial services will be scheduled for immediate family at a later date.
Beverly was born on September 24, 1941, to the late Ralph and Flora Lee Sylvester in Austin, Texas. Beverly, known as "MeeMaw" by her family and "Lucky" by her friends, lived in Austin for 74 years where she retired from the City of Austin, twice. She spent the last eight years in Temple near her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.
Beverly nurtured many spoiled cats over the years. She enjoyed spending free time in the casinos (or "Jackpot" as she referred to them) and never turned down an opportunity to go out for chips n’ salsa with her grandsons, often joking with them about how "BIGFOOT" was real.
She is survived by her only son, Cody Simons and wife, Brandi; grandsons, Ty and Jase Simons; step-grandchildren, Lane Medrano and Marissa Medrano Harris and husband, Auther; step-great grandchildren, Caiden, Carter and Crew Harris; first cousin, Raeleen Wallace and her best friend of many, many years, Martha Brady.
