Phyllis R. Trotz, 94, of Dickson City, died Sunday at her home after an illness. She was the widow of William J. Trotz, who died Dec. 10, 2013.
Born Sept. 15, 1928, in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Florence A. Payne Rowe. Phyllis was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Scranton, and she was a loving wife and mother, dedicating her life in raising her daughter, Carol Trotz.
Phyllis was very active in girl scouting for both the Scranton Pocono Girl Scout Council and the York County (Pa.) Girl Scout Council. She will be remembered for her kindness, humanitarianism and faith. Phyllis will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her nephew, Roger Gregory and family, of Moraga, Calif.; Stephen Kowalchik, of Long Pond; and Maxine and James Adams, of Wilmington, N.C.; and several members of the Klien family including Phyllis's goddaughter, Sharon Klien Slattery, of Yonkers, N.Y.
In addition to her husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Carol, in 2007; and her sister, Leanora Rowe-Gregory and husband, Roger.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 238 Reese St., Scranton, with the Rev. John Zimmerman, pastor, as officiating clergy.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in Duffy & Snowdon/Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home, 129 Grant St., Olyphant. Interment and rite of committal will be conducted at Evergreen Cemetery - Bell Mountain, Dickson City.
Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 238 Reese St., Scranton, PA 18508.
