Phyllis M. Welker, age 95, of Plainfield, peacefully passed away in the morning of December 22, 2025. She was born on April 15, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Burdette Jones and Alma (Johnson) Jones. Phyllis worked as a cafeteria server for Plainfield High School for 15 years before retirement. She enjoyed cooking and gardening in her spare time, but above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Phyllis was a long time member of Plainfield Christian Church. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alfred Welker; brother, LeRoy Jones. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 p.m., where family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Burial will follow to Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include her son, Steven (Brenda) Welker; daughter, Deborah (Dave) Clingerman; 4 grandchildren, Alison Tealdi, April Brewster, Zach Clingerman and Tyler Clingerman; 6 great grandchildren, Aiyla, Makenna, Brennan, Brayden, Raegann and Audrey.
