Phyllis Wilson Obituary
A native Arnett, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Loney Roy and Ruby Rose Sarrett, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are a daughter, Jo Vanvick of Taylors; five grandchildren, Evan Hailey (Steve), John Erik Vanvick, Elle Vanvick, Joshua Wilson (Melisa) and Chanda Wilson (Merrill Lynch, III); seven great-grandchildren, Addison Hailey, Barrett Hailey, Sophia Vanvick, Branden Wilson, Christian Lynch, Jaiden and Alexis; and sister-in-law, Merita Sarrett.
She was predeceased by her son, Mark David Wilson, and three brothers, Jim Sarrett, Rex Sarrett, and Ron Sarrett.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 10, 2026, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel Conducted by Rev. Jerry Stepp. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.

Phyllis was a great soul winner, too. We met my very first Sunday at CBC in 1968. She left the choir to come talk to me during the invitation and showed me the scriptures on how to be saved.
She encouraged me in my faith their remaining years at CBC before retiring and moving to SC. More recently, our conversations were about teaching and all the Bible classes she took or taught.
She always expressed love and I knew she was praying for me and my family. I look forward to seeing her and talking once again.

What a great lady of faith, and sure showed a great example of it. Mrs. Wilson would call me to come help her move her piano and then have homemade cookies and tea for us....we would sit and talk about Gods Love
