Phyllis Joann Wynne died on December 21, 2023 after a brave battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family at her home in West Chester, OH.

Phyllis was born in Danville, IL on October 20, 1958 to William and Marilynn Thomas. She graduated from Danville High School and worked as a daycare teacher when she met her future husband of 41 years, David Wynne. The couple moved to Cincinnati, OH where they raised their two daughters.

While she worked for 20 years as an office manager for a home improvement company, Phyllis will be remembered most for her time spent as a caregiver. From spending weekdays with her young grandkids to making regular trips to Danville to care for her aging mother, she devoted her life to her family.

In her free time, Phyllis designed jewelry and enjoyed traveling and being outdoors. Hiking was a favorite pastime, and she would venture far and wide to take in the picturesque views. She had a knack for interior design, and proudly never taped the edges when helping paint her friends’ and family’s walls. When she wasn’t busy caring, traveling, making, or painting, she could be found with her husband in front of a wood burning fire, enjoying a glass of bourbon.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and held all of her relationships dearly.

Phyllis is survived by her husband David Wynne, two children Jaime Sherwood (Larry) and Rebecca Wynne (Adam Shobert), her brother Steven Mannion and sisters, Sandra Birk and Christine Jobe, as well as her four grandchildren Hayley Paige Cox, Emma Noelle Cox,  Freya Wynne Shobert, and Theodore Ulysses Shobert.

A Memorial Service will be held at Hodapp Funeral Home in West Chester, 8815 Cincinnati Columbus rd (U.S. Rt.42), on Saturday January 13, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the memorial service beginning at 1:00 P.M.
