Pierre Ross Obituary
Published by Legacy on Dec. 2, 2025.
Pierre Xavier "X" Ross, 65, passed away on November 25, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, adventure, kindness, and a life lived at full throttle. To everyone who knew him, Pierre was unforgettable-his smile was huge, his heart even bigger, and his joy for life absolutely unmatched.
Pierre was the beloved husband of Lynn, with whom he shared deep love, partnership, and countless adventures. He was a proud and devoted father to Candice (Derek) Catt, Tiffany Ross, and Christopher (Vanessa) Ross. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen Ross. He was loving and entertaining brother to: Gail (Paul) Tesarek, Doug (Becky) Ross, Jeff Ross, Bernice Ross, Elena (Dale) Sudbrack, David Ross, and Tony (Marita) Ross. He was a doting grandfather to Madelyn (Chris) Gunther, Katelyn Chisholm, Olivia Catt, Tegan Catt, and Caleb Ross. His joy grew even brighter with the arrival of great-grandchildren, Katerina Gunther and Kadien Gunther.
He was also the cherished "bonus dad" to Melissa (David) Boyes, Nicole (Marcus) Vinje, Tara Kolashinski, JJ Kolashinski, and Colin Kolashinski, fondly known as "Big Guy" to Oliver and Gemma Boyes, and "GramPierre" to Kara, Eliana, and Adeline Vinje, and "Grandpa Pierre" to Cassandra, William, and Johanna Hermann. To his many nieces and nephews, he was the world's greatest uncle-supportive, funny, and always ready with a story or a smile.
A proud veteran, Pierre retired as a Chief Petty Officer after serving 20 years in the U.S. Navy. Service didn't end with retirement-he remained deeply involved in the VFW, American Legion, Honor Guard, and was a dedicated volunteer for veterans. His patriotism was matched only by his kindness and generosity.
Pierre lived many lives in one: Walmart manager, mail carrier, and the friendliest State Farm office worker around. No matter the job, he made people feel seen, welcomed, and important.
He wasn't just alive-he lived. He loved travel and adventure, eagerly embracing anything that made his heart race: skydiving, whitewater rafting, Jeeping, hiking, rappelling, motorcycle trips, and just about anything that involved motion, laughter, or a good story to bring home. He loved bowling nights, adored his dogs, and cheering for his beloved Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
Pierre's laugh was contagious, his presence magnetic, and his kindness limitless. His huge smile lit up every room, every campsite, every trailhead, and every family gathering. He never met a stranger he couldn't chat with; he was a friend to all. He loved fiercely-his family and friends were his pride, his joy, and his greatest adventure.
He leaves behind loved ones who will forever carry his spirit and a community better for having known him. Though he has journeyed on too soon, the echo of his laughter, the warmth of his smile, and the example of his kindness will remain.
May his legacy continue to inspire us to love deeply, live boldly, and encourage us to never pass up an adventure.
