Ellie Ross Obituary

Ellie Theresa Ross, 83, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born May 22, 1942, in the Bronx, Ellie entered the world with resilience woven into her very being - a resilience she would draw on again and again, throughout her lifetime.

She moved to Beacon, New York, as a teenager. At nineteen, she married the love of her life, Frank, and together they built a family rooted in devotion, laughter, and love.

Ellie was the proud mother of three children, Lorraine, Susan, and Steven - her greatest joy, her proudest accomplishment, and the very center of her world. And she somehow had room in her heart for even more love-her grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Lauren, Jasmine and Brooke, had her entranced with adoration from the moment they entered this world. And then Ellie was blessed with two great grandchildren- Madison and Bradley, and her world finally had all it needed. Ellie was never just a grandmother, she was a confidant, a best friend, a secret keeper, a shoulder to lean on, and the one they all knew they could run to when they felt like the whole world was against them.

Ellie's philosophy of life was simple, sharp, and utterly her own: "You've got to have a good sense of humor." Even in the darkest corners of life, Ellie found her way back to laughter. Those who knew her will remember her strength, her wit, her grit, and her deep, unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of endurance, laughter, and love that outlived every struggle.

Ellie is survived by her children, Lorraine and Steve, who carry forward her humor, her fire, and her heart. Her grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Lauren, Jasmine and Brooke. And her great-grandchildren, Madison and Bradley.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank and her daughter Susan, with whom we can take comfort in knowing she is reunited with.

May those who loved her continue to laugh.

May they continue - as she taught them - to keep a good sense of humor.
