Piston Sly Mitchell, age 30, passed away on October 7, 2025. He was born June 16, 1995, to Tonya Mitchell and Michael Grube.

Raised in Ogden, Utah, Piston excelled in many pursuits. He had a deep passion for karate, earning multiple belts, and demonstrating remarkable discipline and perseverance.

After graduating from Ben Lomond High School, Piston proudly served in the United States Army. His time in service was marked by strength and courage.

Piston’s greatest joy in life was being a father. He is survived by his beloved sons, Allen and Johnathan, who were the center of his world, giving them all his love, hope, and guidance.

Piston is also survived by his parents; brother, Kyle; sister, Piper; grandparents; Kirc and Sheri Mitchell; aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as other loved ones and friends.

He was preceded in death by his uncle, Kameron Mitchell; cousin, Brayden Arnold; and other loved ones who have gone before him. We find comfort in knowing they are welcoming him into eternal rest.

Piston is leaving behind a story marked by courage, hardship, and love. He was a son who loved more than shown, a father who gave all he could, and a man who never stopped trying to be better. He will have an everlasting impression on all who knew him and was loved more than he knew.

Friends may visit with family on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.
