Pok H. Cho, a beacon of selflessness, strength, and spirited joy, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family in Anchorage, AK, on March 25th, 2025, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born on April 23rd, 1956, in South Korea, Pok's journey took her to America, where she and her husband worked tirelessly to build a beautiful life for their three children.
Pok's devotion to her family was the foundation of her life. She is survived by her cherished husband, Won, with whom she shared a life of love and laughter over their 46 years of marriage. Her legacy continues through her children, Hyo (Calvin), Teresa, and Christina, and grandchild Evan. Her sons-in-law, Scott and Nicholas, were embraced by Pok as her own, and they, along with the rest of her family, will forever hold her in their hearts.
Pok served her community as a United States Postal Service worker for over 30 years. A dedicated employee, she imparted her values of hard work and determination to her three children. As an immigrant who never had the opportunity to pursue higher education herself, she took great pride in achieving her dream of sending all three of her children to college. In the face of any challenge, she always believed that "I'm possible!" – and she exuded this motivational spirit and optimism until the very end of her life.
Pok shared a love of the natural world and spent as much time as she could enjoying the forest and mountain trails of Alaska. She and her husband spent much of each summer at their riverside cabin, where they fished and hosted friends and family. Pok brought beauty and vibrancy to the world through her flower garden, including her favorite lilies and peonies.
Pok was a member of the St. Andrew Kim Korean Catholic Church. She embraced her faith and served her community with great devotion and care. A Catholic service and mass was held honoring Pok on Friday, March 28th.
Pok's life was a tapestry of love, service, and joy. Her memory will be forever cherished and will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness and the beautiful legacy she has left in her family and community.
