Polly Sue Betterton

Polly Betterton, age 89, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born in Cambridge, Ohio in 1937 to Damon and Edith Tedrick, Polly made Mesa, Arizona her lifelong home, where she built a life centered on family, friendship, and community.

Polly shared a 69-year marriage with her beloved husband, Jack Betterton. Together they created their family: Tim Betterton (Carole), Mindy Hawthorne, and Leslie Banes (Phil). She was a proud grandmother to Karran Betterton, Brandon Hawthorne, Chelsey Hawthorne, Nicole Palmer, Jon Banes, and Becca Banes, and a great-grandmother to Gerald Bakke and Summer Bakke.

Throughout her many years as a dedicated REALTOR®, Polly enjoyed helping friends and clients choose homes where they could build better futures and create lasting memories with their families. Away from work, Polly loved to water ski and travel, exploring much of the world and gathering stories along the way. An active and devoted member of P.E.O., she valued the sisterhood's commitment to supporting women and education, finding purpose in contributing to an organization that uplifted others and encouraged lifelong learning. She also loved playing bridge and treasured the friendships it brought.

Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the many memories shared around tables of laughter, cards, and conversation.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
