It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Prakash Jashbhai Patel. Prakashbhai passed away on February 3, 2025, surrounded by his family, in Los Angeles, California.
Prakashbhai was born in Sojat, India on September 3, 1943. In his early 20s, he came to the United States to achieve his Master's in Civil and Structural Engineering at West Virginia University. Post his education, he settled in Pittsburgh, PA and eventually started his family. He continued to work in Pittsburgh for almost 50 years and evidence of his designs and work can be seen throughout Pittsburgh.
Prakashbhai is survived by his wife, Vibhuti, and his daughters, Ashima (late Shrujal Amin), Sushma (Sanjay Raja) and Trisha (Birju Amin). He will also be missed dearly by his grandchildren, Radha, Jayna, Shailen, Rohan, Deven, Naaya and Niam, as well as his brother, Rajendrabhai, his sister, Sohiniben, and sister-in-law, Indiraben.
Along with his family, he leaves behind a significant number of friends that he considered family in the Pittsburgh area. His loss will be felt by so many members of the community.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Hindu Jain Temple of Pittsburgh (www.hindujaintemple.org), as he was a dedicated volunteer.
