Precious lived most of her life in the Kinston area, and attended Savannah High School. She worked for a number of years at East Carolina Linen and was a wonderful homemaker and caregiver to her children. She enjoyed soap operas and cooking, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Precious was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Eva Mae Miles; daughter, Joann Whitfield; siblings, Sophia Adams, Andrew Miles, Jr., and J Bob Miles, Sr.; and son-in-law, William Warren "Monk" Sutton.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth Whitfield; daughter, Jackie Sutton; grandchildren, Benjamin Sutton and Dante Sutton, all of Kinston; sister, Sylvia Jones, of Kinston; brother, Arthur Miles and wife, Sheryl, of Rahway, NJ; sister-in-law, Mattie Miles of Kinston; and a host of nieces and nephews.
