Preston Foster Mapoles

1956 - 2018

Tallahassee - Preston Foster Mapoles fell asleep in death on November 27, 2018 at the age of 62 years. Preston was predeceased by his parents, William H. Mapoles, Jr. and Miriam Preston Mapoles and his brother, Bill Mapoles. He is survived by his sister, Ginger Tressel (Tom), 3 nephews, GregTressel(Karen), David Tressel and Ben Tressel, a niece Shannon Baker (Davey) and a great niece, Emily Baker, as well as numerous cousins.

Preston brought joy to all who knew him. As a youth he participated in the Special Olympics. Later he worked at Tallahassee Mall in the food court for 13 years. He enjoyed music and line dancing and participated in the many activities offered by Pyramid Studios. His favorite artists were Neil Diamond, Kenny Rogers and John Denver. He had a way of getting everyone to sing "Sweet Caroline", his favorite song.

Preston did not fear death and knew that the Bible describes death as sleep. In what will to him seem only a moment, he will awaken in the resurrection on paradise earth, healthy, whole and happy, able to achieve his full potential.

A visitation will be held at 12:00 PM on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road in Tallahassee. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pyramid Studios, 1910 Commonwealth Lane, Tallahassee, FL. 32303.
