Preston Peery Obituary
Mr. Preston Peery Jr. was born April 15, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Mrs. Betty (Jackson) Peery and the late Mr. Preston Peery Sr. Preston moved to Flint, Michigan with his parents in 1959. He attended Daily Elementary School and graduated from Flint Beecher High School, "Class of 1976." After graduation, Preston went on to begin his career at General Motors Corporation on August 15, 1976. He started at Fisher Body and completed his work career at Flint Truck & Bus, divisions of General Motors Corporation as a 5-Star Employee.
Preston was a loving, caring and generous man whose life was guided by integrity and purpose. A man of his word, he believed deeply in doing what was right and standing by those he loved. Preston was an excellent husband and a devoted father, he led his family with patience, strength and unwavering love. His presence was a source of comfort, and his actions reflected a heart that gave freely and selflessly.
Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the values he instilled, and the love he shared so generously.
Mr. Preston Peery Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Dorahetta Tedford Peery of Davison, MI; 3 daughters, Jamila Peery of Atlanta, GA, Maia (Shawn) Smiley of Detroit, MI and Cyndia (Gean) Tedford Leonard; 7 grandchildren, Anjee Ellies, Genesis Leonard, Dametrice Tims Jr., Catori Hudson, all of Atlanta, GA and Nia Peery of Detroit, MI, Justin Smiley and Jordan Smiley; 2 sisters, Regina Peery and Stephanie Peery; brother, Raymond (Shelah) Peery; 3 nieces, Stephanie Peery, Alisha Peery and Rachel Peery; nephew, David Peery; a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Peery was preceded in death by his father, Preston Peery Sr.; grandparents, Lacy and Myrtle Peery; aunts, Myrtle Parton and Josephine Peery; uncles, Clyde Peery, Frank Peery, Joe Louis Peery and James Peery.
The family would like to express special thanks to Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, Triumph Church-Ebenezer Campus, Pat Redd, and all our friends and family. Thank you for the love and support during this time of bereavement.

I am shocked and saddened after learning of Preston´s passing. I was honored to have known him the last 6 years at his credit union. He always had a kind word, a smile on his face, and always a "Have a blessed day" every time we met. I know he loved God and his family deeply. Praying for peace, comfort, strength, and understanding during this difficult time. Thank you for being a wonderful person Preston ... rejoice in heaven my friend.
