My family and I have been recently watching Mountain Men on our Roku TV, as the show is available to watch at any time. Today we viewed an episode that shared yet another an adventure between Eustace and Preston. They were delivering their handmade canoe to a buyer many miles down the river. They both shared a laugh and I smiled and commented about how special their friendship was. That was when my fiancé told me Preston had unfortunately passed away many years ago. I was greatly saddened to hear this and shed tears for a great man I never personally knew. A wonderful personality, smile, laugh and forever a "Mountain Man". Rest in Peace, Preston. You are greatly missed by many! My continued condolences to his friends and family.

I only learned of Preston's untimely passing today while watching Mountain Men. I'm not ashamed in the least to say that I was shocked and I shed a tear for someone I admired and respected, even although I never knew him personally. His skill, loyalty, and gentle persona touched me & I'm sure many others. What a loss to humanity, my condolences to all his family and friends.

In just a couple of days it will already be a whole year since the world lost a great man on the Mountain Men show on the History Channel.
Im sure his loss was great to his family and friends but he is greatly missed on the show too. Eustace Im sure misses his good friend as I do, knowing he wont be on the show anymore.
My thoughts and prayers are with you Eustace as well as Prestons family. I know what a loss it is for Prestons wife because I too lost my husband almost three years ago.
Blessings and sincere sympathy to all of you.

As an avid fan of "Mountain Men", my particularly favourite segments were those of Eustace and Preston in the Blue Ridge. I have had the privilege of exploring the region on more than one occasion. Touched my soul! My husband and I use our PVR to watch episodes, and unknown to me, he would stop the viewing prior to the "in memory of Preston" so as to not upset me. I truly admired Preston and how he partnered so well with Eustace and their authentic ways of life. Last evening, January 25, my husband asked me to grad a tissue for some sad news. The tears fell uncontrollably. I realize now how very late this is, so please know that even now, and for quite awhile to come, Preston will be remembered...fondly.

My husband and I were deeply saddened when we learned of Preston's passing. As long-time fans of watching Preston and Eustace, we came to thoroughly enjoy Preston's gentle spirit, awesome talent, and the deep friendship the two men shared as they worked the land using "old timie" techniques. We also learned a lot that we could apply to our little homestead. May the Lord hold the Roberts family and Eustace close to His heart and help them along the path of grieving such a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend and honorable human being. We miss him.

I just saw the memorial at the end of the program tonight....watch the show and had a kindred feeling for Preston and Eustice because I have visited Western NC many times....have not the other places. When I watched him it just reminded me of the gentleness and humbleness of the people who live off the land in that part of the country, real Americans! Going to miss him as Eustis will also miss his friend....my best friend of 50 + years is suffering with the same health issue, I feat the day he leaves. God Bless the family.

My husband and I were watching an episode of Mountain Men and chuckling about Preston's ability to get four syllables into the word golly. Just then the announcement flashed up and we both cried out at the same time. We will remember Preston as a man who quietly exemplified his love for God and country. As well, his deep respect for nature and the world he lived in. We will miss his quiet ways. Our prayers go out to his family, friends, and of course, Eustace. It will be impossible to replace him in the lives of those who loved him.
