Preston W. Scott Jr "Butch", 74 of Madison Heights, Virginia passed away
peacefully at his residence July 1, 2025. He was born on August 29, 1950, to the late Preston W. Scott Sr. (Mary). In addition to his parents, he's preceded in death by his grandparents William Osborne Sr. (Elsie), daughter Consuela Rucker Greene "Totsie", sister Rebecca Lee "Beck", brother-in-law Arnold Jordan and nephew Timothy Nappier.
Butch was well known for his many years of drywall work. He was an avid card player with pity pat being his game of choice where he and his baby sister Mary Ann were sure to be the winners. Everyone he encountered he would call swelly or cousin.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Velma of 25 years of Madison Heights, daughter Felicia Rucker of Harrisonburg, stepsons Jason Patterson (Leila) of Fredericksburg and Troy Patterson of Lynchburg, devoted grandson Joshua Donald of Madison Heights and grandchildren Simone Rucker and Saqauia Pruitt both of Jarratt, Dasija Burton, Alexus, Aaliyah, Shakira, Rakweon, Jaheem Smith all of Harrisonburg, step grandchildren Troy Patterson Jr "TJ" of Williamsburg, Abigail Walkder of Lynchburg, Jason Patterson Jr "J", Christian, Sierra of Fredericksburg and Soffiya of Florida, great grandson Christopher Smith of Harrisonburg, step great grandchildren Carter Patterson of Pennsylvania and Sebastian Patterson of Ruther Glenn.
Two sisters Minnie Jordan and Maryann Nappier (Percy) both of Amherst, Aunt Juanita Douglas (Lloyd) of Madison Heights, Nephew Arnold Jordan Jr "Jody" (Audrey) of Lynchburg, sister-in-law Vernetta Jackson (Moses) and brother-in-law Ernest Harris of Madison Heights, four nieces Erica Jones (Derryl), Tara Lee, Joy Wilson (Edward) all of Madison Heights and Pamela Glover (Paul) of Amherst. Close friends Leola Chilton and Geneva Moore whom referred to him as Butchy Boy and a host of other relatives and friends.
