Preston D. Troupe passed away on November 13, 2025. Born to Mr. James Troupe and Mrs. Sular Mae Troupe, he was the first of their children and was lovingly raised by his family and community. He graduated from Booker High School in Sarasota, FL, and went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy, stationed at Naval Air Station Cecil Field in Jacksonville, FL, and the Reserve Personnel Center in New Orleans, LA. His dedicated service earned him several honors, including the Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, two Republic of Vietnam Commendations, and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3rd Award).

Preston later worked for six years as a refrigeration and air conditioning repairman and mechanic. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially at reunions, where he was known for cooking turkeys and making homemade ice cream. A man of strong faith, Preston encouraged others-especially youth-to pursue their goals.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Darlene Troupe and Debra Green of Sarasota, FL; his sisters, Doricel Glass of Jacksonville, FL, and Bernice Walker of Sarasota, FL; cousins Ms. Virginia Daise and Ms. Linda Ford (Jacksonville, FL), and Willie Floyd (Dublin, GA); devoted friends Nathaniel Jones and David Gaskins (Jacksonville, FL); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, church members, and Pastor Johnny Leggett.

Mr. Troupe may be viewed on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Carthage Chapel from 3:00 p.m. Until 5:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 21, 2025, at Carthage Chapel Funeral Home, Inc., 929 West Beaver Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32204.
