Pretty Pat Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 29, 2025.
Patricia Ann Petty

Rutland-It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Petty (Pretty Pat), who left this world on August 28, 2025. Born on April 1st, 1939, Patricia lived a life full of energy, passion, and a fierce love for family, friends, and adventure.

Patricia had a colorful career, starting as a waitress at Bernadina's, Fairmont, then followed by Sunset Restaurant. She later worked at Tampax while serving as the President of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, leaving an unforgettable mark wherever she went.

Her love for life was evident in the hobbies she pursued. Patricia had a particular fondness for bowling; she even traveled to Puerto Rico for a tournament where she took home the trophy. She could always be found laughing, dancing and having a good time. Cruises were another passion of hers, and she enjoyed spending time playing pool with friends. Patricia had a heart for both money and gambling, never passing up a chance to try her luck. Her home, a revolving door of friends and family, was a testament to her warmth and hospitality, and her round table was always a place where lively conversation and love flourished.

Though she had a special place in her heart for many things, Patricia certainly had a few dislikes-none more so than mice and men! Her strong opinions were just one part of the spirited woman she was.

Patricia is survived by her beloved children, Mike (spouse Dawn), David (spouse Taina), Robin (spouse Tim), Timothy (spouse Maralise), and Colette (spouse Pete). Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren Justin, Jonathan, David Jr., Georgie, Regan, Connor, Carrigan, and Delaney, as well as her great-grandchildren.

She was married to Roger Boynton, Bruce Matt, and George Petty, each bringing their own chapter to her remarkable life.

Patricia was daughter of Milton and Doris Dorr. She was also the proud sister of brothers Reginald (Reggie), Richard (Dickie), and Milton Jr. (Buddy), as well as sisters Yvonne (Bunny), Beverly, Maryann, and Judy. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Her passing leaves a hole in the hearts of those who knew her, but her legacy of love, adventure, and warmth will live on in the stories we continue to tell. May she rest in peace, knowing she was loved by many and will never be forgotten.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Moose Lodge in Rutland, Vermont on Saturday, September 6 at 1:00 where friends and family are invited to gather and remember the wonderful woman who touched so many lives.
